My Encounters

Just some of the people I have had the opportunity  to meet and interact with while working on The Pine Needle.
The Pine Needle, UNC Pembroke’s student newspaper was awarded first place by The American Scholastic Press Association (ASPA) in their annual newspaper competition in 2009 and 2010. (http://www.uncp.edu/pineneedle/news/2010SummerNews/UNCP_newspaper_rated_best.html
I served on the senior staff of  The Pine Needle  as photo editor for 4yrs.

Meeting Lou Gossett Jr. and having the opportunity to introduce him to a crowd of about 600 college students, would have to be the highlight of my college years.

Jacquie Banks, Lou Gossett Jr. and I pose for a standard picture that everyone must have. Hold the camera out in front you and take the picture yourself.

I did not grow up on Bill Nye the Science Guy, because I am too young or too old, but because I did not grow up in the US in my early years. Meeting this guy that all my peers grew up on was fantastic. I felt like I grew up watching him on TV just being around him and around his biggest fans.

I enjoy my job as a photographer because there is always an opportunity to meet someone new. Legendary rapper, Chuck D of public enemy is not one of the people I would have had the priviledge of meeting if I wasn't a photographer..

Jodie Sweetin also know as Stephanie Tanner of the full house and I pose for a picture after a long day of events.

Wade Allen, Pine Needle editor in chief  interviews Jodie on WNCP TV before her talk.

Everyone loves Mickey. Enough said.
